![]() There were plenty of chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas as well as a bar serving drink specials all day and food. This is a smaller pool area right by the beach. We also enjoyed the pools at the Beach Club. Other than the rocky floor, the beach and ocean is beautiful, there is such diverse wildlife to see, you might even spot some sea turtles! So go out and enjoy it. I highly recommend bringing and wearing some sort of water shoes or sandals in the ocean, as the entire Riviera Maya coast is classically rocky. There was a sandy coastline that juts up against the rocky shore and relatively calm water. I’m not really sure what that reviewer was talking about, we loved the beach here! One review I found claimed that the ocean just wasn’t accessible or swimmable at the Grand Bliss. Even though a small tip amount was included on all of our food/drink bills, the staff explained that the included tip is then split among all the service staff and kitchen staff/cooks – which is great – but we also made sure to leave a little extra cash tip just for our servers who were running back and forth and all around for us all day. We spent the vast majority of our time right on the beach because – when in Mexico, right? And it was perfect, there were shaded loungers right along the beach so we spent our days there, swimming in the ocean throughout the day.Īnother huge perk was the Grand Bliss staff come down and serve drinks and food right to you on the beach! That was the cherry on top of our vacation for sure. We didn’t end up going to Jungala because we decided the extra fee wasn’t worth it. ![]() There are multiple pool areas spread out throughout the Grand Bliss, which was great because none of them ever felt too crowded. The beach and pools at Grand Bliss Riviera Maya Honestly, if you’re someone who is squeamish about lizards and critters…. It is still in the jungle though, which I love and enjoy, but that means there are tons of little lizards, not-so-little iguanas, coatis, shorebirds, owls, turtles, and lots of other wildlife around. Or if you decide something is too far to walk, just head to the closest shuttle stop and there will be a staff member there to help you get where you want to go.Įverywhere we explored around the resort was absolutely beautiful and clean. I’d recommend downloading the Vidanta app, which not only has lots of helpful information and resources about the resort, it has a map that will show you where are all the restaurants, pools, and places of interest are along with walking trails to get there. If you’ve read any other reviews on the Grand Bliss or Vidanta, you may have heard – this place is huge! That is not an understatement. The housekeeping staff were wonderful and came by to do a full clean each day, they even did our dishes! There was also a nightly turn-down service which made it extra special. And they all opened up to a large porch with several seats and a cold soaking pool to dip in when it gets too hot. The suite really was gorgeous, perfect for our family and so clean.Įach bedroom had its own sitting area, full bathroom with a rainfall showerhead, soaking tub and double sinks and of course, a giant California king bed.Ĭheck availability at The Grand Bliss Riviera MayaĮach of the three areas in the suite had its own temperature controls and air conditioner. Since there were four of us, two couples, we did stay in a two-bedroom suite that had a small kitchen and living room separating the bedrooms. The shuttles on-site at the resort are like large golf carts, which were great for getting back and forth to the main lobby or getting somewhere in a hurry, otherwise, we just walked everywhere. My sister said they received a free alcoholic drink and water on their shuttle, there were no such luxuries on the shuttle my husband and I got, womp, womp!įrom the central lobby of Vidanta, then we took another ‘shuttle’ over to the Grand Bliss lobby to check-in. They were pretty easy to find and the shuttle went straight from the airport to the resort. So, after landing, we dodged all the salesmen in the Cancun airport and headed straight outside to the ground transportation area to find our shuttle.
