![]() According to my research this error usually comes from not having enough space on your System Recovery Partition (Closest thing to that I can see is a 300MB EFI Partition), a corrupted component of Windows update (I've ran the troubleshooter, sfc/scannow, and DISM tools to clean up any potential errors), or a connection issue like a VPN or firewall blocking communication to the update servers (ruled out by testing known good networks and the issue still happens).Īt this point, I'm left with two avenues: Recently I noticed that when attempting to install the Windows 10 22H2 update, I keep getting an error with code 0x800f0922.Expand the EFI partition from 300MB to 500MB using a 3rd party tool, hope nothing breaks, and see if that fixes it.Wait for Apple to roll out a fix (not likely) for this issue seeing as a similar issue has occurred with Parallels VM users, and the issue seemed to be TPM related.Seeing as Intel Macs have no TPM of any kind, there is not likely to be a fix. ![]() If any of you have ran into this issue, let me know of any potential fix. I mainly use Bootcamp to play games when traveling. Not being able to update to the KB5012170 update is not important, but if Apple is going to support Macs that can run Bootcamp, Bootcamp should work correctly (if this is indeed the problem and not something else). I have been trying to install the new Ventura Operating system unsuccessfully on my iMac since it was first released.ĢTb Fusion drive with 1.22TB of free space. I have a VPN running connected to a US host. ![]() I would boot into safe mode and I was able to successfully download the update I attempted to install the update for Monterey, 12.6.2 In the past, this has not affected any Apple updates, or any other s/w updates) ( I have attempted all updates with and without the VPN connected and the results are the same. The installation process would start and usually at the 26 minutes remaining mark I would get the following error message "An error occurred preparing the update" Failed to prepare the software update. I deleted the software update and attempted it again from both regular login and safe mode, both produced the same results, and always at the 26 minutes remaining. The installation problems occur in both the safe mode and regular login, and always at the 26 minutes remaining, and always produces the same error message: I decided to wait for Ventura to come out and when it did I encountered the same problems as above. ![]()
